Coinbase has added four new members to its Global Advisory Council, including Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign co-manager Chris LaCivita and former Federal Reserve Bank of New York President Bill Dudley.

The expansion also brings former US Senator Kyrsten Sinema and international finance expert Luis Alberto Moreno to the council, bolstering the crypto exchange’s expertise in policy, finance, and international affairs.

“Coinbase is fortunate to have some of the brightest minds across finance, tech, and politics supporting us through the Global Advisory Council,” said Faryar Shirzad, Coinbase’s Chief Policy Officer.

LaCivita, who now serves as Chief of Staff for the Republican National Committee, commented that the industry “deserves better than what it received from the previous administration.”

Dudley emphasized that political leadership would be crucial in determining crypto’s integration into the broader financial system.

Sinema, who worked on bipartisan legislation during her Senate tenure, viewed the appointment as advancing financial modernization, while Moreno emphasized crypto’s potential to eliminate global financial barriers.

The council, which includes former lawmakers, regulators, and policy leaders, aims to provide strategic guidance as Coinbase seeks clearer regulatory frameworks in the US and internationally.
