The event was attended by more than 40 people, all estimated to be 30 years of age or older.

According to a BitPinas contributor who attended, Pi Network enthusiasts participated in bartering, exchanging goods and services using a 50%-50% split between fiat currency and $PI. During the event, merchant stalls displayed a conversion chart to provide attendees with a reference for $PI-to-peso valuations.

According to a Facebook post, the guidebook, authored by Doris Yin, serves as a strategic blueprint for advancing the GCV movement and promoting the adoption of Pi Network worldwide. He noted that the book provides key insights to drive global consensus on Pi’s value and expand the ecosystem.

Following this event, organizers also held another Bartering and Merchants Orientation on March 20 at the Hugo Perez Covered Court in Trece Martires City, Cavite.

A Background on Pi Network

Pi Network claims to be a blockchain-based digital currency project that aims to make cryptocurrency mining accessible to everyday users through a mobile app.

Founded in 2019 by Kokkalis and Fan, who are supposedly from Stanford University, Pi Network allows users, called Pioneers, to mine Pi coins using their smartphones without the need for energy-intensive hardware.

The Global Value Consensus (GCV) movement within the Pi Network community promotes a standardized value for $PI while encouraging adoption among businesses and merchants.

Latest News on Pi Network

Meanwhile, Bybit CEO Ben Zhou warned that Pi Network is riskier than meme coins due to its lack of transparency, repeated delays, and targeting of inexperienced users. He criticized the project for having an elusive team, a six-year mining campaign with unclear rewards, and a model resembling a Ponzi scheme. Bybit has refused to list $PI, citing these concerns.

Recently, Pi supporters expressed disappointment after Binance excluded Pi Network from its “Vote to List” campaign due to its lack of integration with the BNB Smart Chain. Nonetheless, Pi Coin remains actively traded on other exchanges, despite community concerns over bot-driven negativity on CoinMarketCap.
